Book Synopsis Study of Laser-induced Graphene Based Flexible Humidity Sensor by : Zhaozheng Yu

Download or read book Study of Laser-induced Graphene Based Flexible Humidity Sensor written by Zhaozheng Yu. This book was released on 2019. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Capacitive humidity sensors based on laser-induced graphene (LIG) were fabricated by using the CO2 laser to scribe on the commercial polyimide thin film (thickness = 50m). The laser-ablated region of the polyimide turns into a porous structure with carbon as the main composition. Raman spectra and scanning electron microscope were used to characterize the LIGs chemical and morphology. Patterning LIG into the interdigitated electrode (IDE) to serve as both the electrode and sensing materials was achieved in one step. The proposed flexible humidity sensor demonstrates the sensitivity of 10% and response/recovery time of 109s/13.5s, respectively. In general, a promising humidity sensor with improved response/recovery time and good sensitivity can be fabricated in an easy, fast, and low-cost manner.

Book Synopsis Laser-induced Graphene by : Ruquan Ye

Download or read book Laser-induced Graphene written by Ruquan Ye. This book was released on 2020-11-30. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: LIG is a revolutionary technique that uses a common CO2 infrared laser scriber, like the one used in any machine shop, for the direct conversion of polymers into porous graphene under ambient conditions. This technique combines the preparation and patterning of 3D graphene in a single step, without the use of wet chemicals. The ease in the structural engineering and excellent mechanical properties of the 3D graphene obtained have made LIG a versatile technique for applications across many fields. This book compiles cutting-edge research on LIG by different research groups all over the world. It discusses the strategies that have been developed to synthesize and engineer graphene, including controlling its properties such as porosity, composition, and surface characteristics. The authors are pioneers in the discovery and development of LIG and the book will appeal to anyone involved in nanotechnology, chemistry, environmental sciences, and device development, especially those with an interest in the synthesis and applications of graphene-based materials.

Book Synopsis Printed Flexible Sensors by : Anindya Nag

Download or read book Printed Flexible Sensors written by Anindya Nag. This book was released on 2019-03-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents recent advances in the design, fabrication and implementation of flexible printed sensors. It explores a range of materials for developing the electrode and substrate parts of the sensors, on the basis of their electrical and mechanical characteristics. The sensors were processed using laser cutting and 3D printing techniques, and the sensors developed were employed in a number of healthcare, environmental and industrial applications, including: monitoring of physiological movements, respiration, salinity and nitrate measurement, and tactile sensing. The type of sensor selected for each application depended on its dimensions, robustness and sensitivity. The sensors fabricated were also embedded in an IoT-based system, allowing them to be integrated into real-time applications.

Download or read book Nanodevices for Microwave and Millimeter Wave Applications written by Isabelle Huynen. This book was released on 2020-06-16. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The microwave and millimeter wave frequency range is nowadays widely exploited in a large variety of fields including (wireless) communications, security, radar, spectroscopy, but also astronomy and biomedical, to name a few. This Special Issue focuses on the interaction between the nanoscale dimensions and centimeter to millimeter wavelengths. This interaction has been proven to be efficient for the design and fabrication of devices showing enhanced performance. Novel contributions are welcome in the field of devices based on nanoscaled geometries and materials. Applications cover, but not are limited to, electronics, sensors, signal processing, imaging and metrology, all exploiting nanoscale/nanotechnology at microwave and millimeter waves. Contributions can take the form of short communications, regular or review papers.

Download or read book Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene written by Kazuyoshi Tanaka. This book was released on 2014-07-10. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Carbon Nanotubes and Graphene is a timely second edition of the original Science and Technology of Carbon Nanotubes. Updated to include expanded coverage of the preparation, purification, structural characterization, and common application areas of single- and multi-walled CNT structures, this work compares, contrasts, and, where appropriate, unitizes CNT to graphene. This much expanded second edition reference supports knowledge discovery, production of impactful carbon research, encourages transition between research fields, and aids the formation of emergent applications. New chapters encompass recent developments in the theoretical treatments of electronic and vibrational structures, and magnetic, optical, and electrical solid-state properties, providing a vital base to research. Current and potential applications of both materials, including the prospect for large-scale synthesis of graphene, biological structures, and flexible electronics, are also critically discussed. Updated discussion of properties, structure, and morphology of biological and flexible electronic applications aids fundamental knowledge discovery Innovative parallel focus on nanotubes and graphene enables you to learn from the successes and failures of, respectively, mature and emergent partner research disciplines High-quality figures and tables on physical and mathematical applications expertly summarize key information – essential if you need quick, critically relevant data
