Download or read book Chinese Armed Forces Order Of Battle: Rocket Force written by Jaidev Jamwal. This book was released on 2022-08-20. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text is part of a series I’m writing on Order Of Battle (ORBAT) of Chinese Armed Forces. It covers the bulk of their ground forces, air defence and other military and a few dual use assets of People’s Liberation Army. This one is about Chinese Rocket Forces (PLARF). You will find details about Chinese missile units, their addresses and coordinates marked on maps. While going through this document, you’ll find some missing fields and some marked with symbol ^. It just means that the information presented there is a best guess or based on unreliable information. I hope to cover the missing parts and add some more information in the final release, a few months from now. You can find more details and other parts of this series on my website at: https://jjamwal.in/yayavar/order-of-battle-of-chinese-armed-forces/ Early access at Patreon, https://www.patreon.com/jjamwal. Due to multiple and rapid changes going on in PLA, some data may be outdated by the time you are reading this. It happened to me even as I was writing down all of it. Hopefully, I will be able to update and make corrections in future. Feedback and corrections welcome at [email protected]. Twitter: @jaidevjamwal

Download or read book Chinese Armed Forces Order of Battle: Radars and Surface to Air Missile (SAM) sites written by Jaidev Jamwal. This book was released on . Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text is the second part of a series I’m writing on ORBAT of Chinese Armed Forces. It covers Chinese Radar and long range Surface To Air Missile sites. Most f these units are quite easy to spot on most earth imaging services like Google Earth and their locations hardly ever change or do so over the course of a few months or even years. So this is one low hanging fruit I am finishing with earlier. This monograph contains a list of 490+ Radar, 200+ long ranged SAMs and related units marked and located on the map. Links for Google Earth maps are provided. One issue with this data is dated ORBAT (Order of Battle) which is based on old and partial information. There is a fair bit of information available about some of the Chinese forces after the reforms of 2017. But I haven’t been able to find any updated and reliable source of information about how the Radar and SAM units have been reorganised. While going through this document, you’ll find a few missing columns and some marked with symbol ^. It just means that the information presented there is a best guess or based on unreliable information. Book Synopsis Chinese Military Reform in the Age of Xi Jinping: Drivers, Challenges, and Implications by : Joel Wuthnow

Download or read book Chinese Military Reform in the Age of Xi Jinping: Drivers, Challenges, and Implications written by Joel Wuthnow. This book was released on . Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has embarked on its most wide-ranging and ambitious restructuring since 1949, including major changes to most of its key organizations. The restructuring reflects the desire to strengthen PLA joint operation capabilities- on land, sea, in the air, and in the space and cyber domains. The reforms could result in a more adept joint warfighting force, though the PLA will continue to face a number of key hurdles to effective joint operations, Several potential actions would indicate that the PLA is overcoming obstacles to a stronger joint operations capability. The reforms are also intended to increase Chairman Xi Jinping's control over the PLA and to reinvigorate Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organs within the military. Xi Jinping's ability to push through reforms indicates that he has more authority over the PLA than his recent predecessors. The restructuring could create new opportunities for U.S.-China military contacts.

Book Synopsis China's Strategic Support Force by : John Costello

Download or read book China's Strategic Support Force written by John Costello. This book was released on 2018-10-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In late 2015, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) initiated reforms that have brought dramatic changes to its structure, model of warfighting, and organizational culture, including the creation of a Strategic Support Force (SSF) that centralizes most PLA space, cyber, electronic, and psychological warfare capabilities. The reforms come at an inflection point as the PLA seeks to pivot from land-based territorial defense to extended power projection to protect Chinese interests in the "strategic frontiers" of space, cyberspace, and the far seas. Understanding the new strategic roles of the SSF is essential to understanding how the PLA plans to fight and win informationized wars and how it will conduct information operations.
