He gives a personal account of his experiences as an espionage radio agent. The development of the intercept service is discussed with an emphasis on German methodology. The author states that radio espionage played a decisive role during World War II. Long before the armistice it was apparent to these German agents that the National Socialist cause was lost because the results of the intercept service revealed how strong the enemy was in all fields. The author poses the question, Why did they not stop the war when they knew it could not be won?
