Book Synopsis VHF / UHF Filters and Multicouplers by : Bernard Piette

Download or read book VHF / UHF Filters and Multicouplers written by Bernard Piette. This book was released on 2013-04-02. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the various devices used in radio communication and broadcasting to achieve high selectivity filtering and coupling. After providing background in the basics of microwave theory and more detailed material — including a special chapter on precision and errors in measurement - the reader will find detailed descriptions, manufacturing processes, and for the most useful instances a number of worked-through formulas, which will allow engineers and technicians to design circuits or components for filtering or coupling applications. Content is covered in this format across a broad range of fields including coaxial cavities, combline filters, bandpass and pass-reject duplexers, multicouplers, circulators, low-noise amplifiers, helix resonators, and much more.

Book Synopsis Wideband Electronically Tunable Filters for Vhf-uhf Band by : George H. THIESS

Download or read book Wideband Electronically Tunable Filters for Vhf-uhf Band written by George H. THIESS. This book was released on 1965. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Measurements of linewidth and Q have been made at frequencies from 90 Mc to 1000 Mc on 40 gallium substituted YIG resonators. Both spheres and discs were measured by a dynamic technique in which a resonator coupled energy between two coaxial lines. A complete description of the experimental setup is given and the data obtained is analyzed. The measured Q of gallium substituted YIG was found to be too low for practical filters at frequencies below 200 Mc at all temperatures from room temperature up to the curie temperature of the resonator. It is also predicted, from theoretical considerations, that at no other temperature higher than 10 K, is the Q likely to be any higher. It is recommended that further development of low magnetization materials be carried out, with the special aim of producing materials free of gradients and with low cutoff frequencies. The insertion loss of the UHF filter was typically 3 to 4 db across the 300 Mc to 1000 Mc band. The VHF filter was approximately 4 db except at 90 Mc where it rose to 11.5 db. It is concluded that YIG filters are probably not practical at frequencies below 200 Mc unless improved materials become available. (Author).

Book Synopsis Analog Electronics for Measuring Systems by : Davide Bucci

Download or read book Analog Electronics for Measuring Systems written by Davide Bucci. This book was released on 2017-04-12. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many instrumentation engineers and scientists often deal with analog electronic issues when approaching delicate measurements. Even if off-the-shelf measuring solutions exist, comprehension of the analog behavior of the measuring system is often a necessity. This book provides a concise introduction to the main elements of a low frequency analog acquisition chain. It aims to be sufficiently general to provide an introduction, yet specific enough to guide the reader through some classical problems that may be encountered in the subject. Topics include sensors, conditioning circuits, differential and instrumentation amplifiers, active filters (mainly for anti-aliasing purposes) and analog to digital converters. A chapter is devoted to an introduction to noise and electronic compatibility. This work is intended for people with a general background in electronics and signal processing, who are looking for an introduction to classical electronic solutions employed in measuring instruments involving low frequency analog signal processing.

Book Synopsis Fundamentals of Electronics 1 by : Pierre Muret

Download or read book Fundamentals of Electronics 1 written by Pierre Muret. This book was released on 2017-08-09. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electronics has undergone important and rapid developments over the last 60 years, which have generated a large range of theoretical and practical notions. This book presents a comprehensive treatise of the evolution of electronics for the reader to grasp both fundamental concepts and the associated practical applications through examples and exercises. This first volume of the Fundamentals of Electronics series comprises four chapters devoted to elementary devices, i.e. diodes, bipolar junction transistors and related devices, field effect transistors and amplifiers, their electrical models and the basic functions they can achieve. Volumes to come will deal with systems in the continuous time regime, the various aspects of sampling signals and systems using analog (A) and digital (D) treatments, quantized level systems, as well as DA and AD converter principles and realizations.
