Book Synopsis Towards Cloud-based Crowd-augmented Spectrum Mapping for Dynamic Spectrum Access by : Prabhu Janakaraj

Download or read book Towards Cloud-based Crowd-augmented Spectrum Mapping for Dynamic Spectrum Access written by Prabhu Janakaraj. This book was released on 2015. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, applications using wireless technology has dramatically increased. This has led to the challenge of improving the spatio-temporal spectrum utilization. Dynamic spectrum access is a method of opportunistically accessing the spectrum. Identifying the unused spectrum is one of the key challenge for dynamic spectrum access. Regulatory bodies recommend the usage of centralized database to maintain the unused spectrum at various geographic locations. These databases are constructed with the help of propagation models. Propagation models are not accurate enough for effcient spectrum utilization. To encounter this problem, we propose a cloud-based and crowd- augmented spectrum mapping database by combining the manual spectrum measurements from various mobile devices. Then, we show how optimal sampling can help in achieving high resolution, high accurate spectrum mapping in minimal cost.

Book Synopsis Dynamic Spectrum Access for Wireless Networks by : Danda B. Rawat

Download or read book Dynamic Spectrum Access for Wireless Networks written by Danda B. Rawat. This book was released on 2015-03-09. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This SpringerBrief presents adaptive resource allocation schemes for secondary users for dynamic spectrum access (DSA) in cognitive radio networks (CRNs) by considering Quality-of-Service requirements, admission control, power/rate control, interference constraints, and the impact of spectrum sensing or primary user interruptions. It presents the challenges, motivations, and applications of the different schemes. The authors discuss cloud-assisted geolocation-aware adaptive resource allocation in CRNs by outsourcing computationally intensive processing to the cloud. Game theoretic approaches are presented to solve resource allocation problems in CRNs. Numerical results are presented to evaluate the performance of the proposed methods. Adaptive Resource Allocation in Cognitive Radio Networks is designed for professionals and researchers working in the area of wireless networks. Advanced-level students in electrical engineering and computer science, especially those focused on wireless networks, will find this information helpful.

Book Synopsis Digital and Social Media Marketing by : Nripendra P. Rana

Download or read book Digital and Social Media Marketing written by Nripendra P. Rana. This book was released on 2019-11-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines issues and implications of digital and social media marketing for emerging markets. These markets necessitate substantial adaptations of developed theories and approaches employed in the Western world. The book investigates problems specific to emerging markets, while identifying new theoretical constructs and practical applications of digital marketing. It addresses topics such as electronic word of mouth (eWOM), demographic differences in digital marketing, mobile marketing, search engine advertising, among others. A radical increase in both temporal and geographical reach is empowering consumers to exert influence on brands, products, and services. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and digital media are having a significant impact on the way people communicate and fulfil their socio-economic, emotional and material needs. These technologies are also being harnessed by businesses for various purposes including distribution and selling of goods, retailing of consumer services, customer relationship management, and influencing consumer behaviour by employing digital marketing practices. This book considers this, as it examines the practice and research related to digital and social media marketing.

Book excerpt: The primary purpose of this book is to capture the state-of-the-art in Cloud Computing technologies and applications. The book will also aim to identify potential research directions and technologies that will facilitate creation a global market-place of cloud computing services supporting scientific, industrial, business, and consumer applications. We expect the book to serve as a reference for larger audience such as systems architects, practitioners, developers, new researchers and graduate level students. This area of research is relatively recent, and as such has no existing reference book that addresses it. This book will be a timely contribution to a field that is gaining considerable research interest, momentum, and is expected to be of increasing interest to commercial developers. The book is targeted for professional computer science developers and graduate students especially at Masters level. As Cloud Computing is recognized as one of the top five emerging technologies that will have a major impact on the quality of science and society over the next 20 years, its knowledge will help position our readers at the forefront of the field.
