Book Synopsis Time and Frequency Representation of Signals and Systems by : G. Longo

Download or read book Time and Frequency Representation of Signals and Systems written by G. Longo. This book was released on 2014-05-04. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of time and frequency representation of signals dates back to the first notation for music. From a mathematical viewpoint we can associate the time function to its Fourier transform. This book introduces a useful representation of signals simultaneously in time and frequency.

Book Synopsis Signals and Systems (Edition 3.0) by : Michael D. Adams

Download or read book Signals and Systems (Edition 3.0) written by Michael D. Adams. This book was released on 2020-12-15. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended for use in teaching undergraduate courses on continuous-time and/or discrete-time signals and systems in engineering (and related) disciplines. It provides a detailed introduction to continuous-time and discrete-time signals and systems, with a focus on both theory and applications. The mathematics underlying signals and systems is presented, including topics such as: signal properties, elementary signals, system properties, continuous-time and discrete-time linear time-invariant systems, convolution, continuous-time and discrete-time Fourier series, the continuous-time and discrete-time Fourier transforms, frequency spectra, and the bilateral and unilateral Laplace and z transforms. Applications of the theory are also explored, including: filtering, equalization, amplitude modulation, sampling, feedback control systems, circuit analysis, Laplace-domain techniques for solving differential equations, and z-domain techniques for solving difference equations. Other supplemental material is also included, such as: a detailed introduction to MATLAB, a review of complex analysis, an introduction to partial fraction expansions, an exploration of time-domain techniques for solving differential equations, and information on online video-lecture content for material covered in the book. Throughout the book, many worked-through examples are provided. Problem sets are also provided for each major topic covered.

Book Synopsis Time-Frequency Signal Analysis and Processing by : Boualem Boashash

Download or read book Time-Frequency Signal Analysis and Processing written by Boualem Boashash. This book was released on 2015-12-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time-Frequency Signal Analysis and Processing (TFSAP) is a collection of theory, techniques and algorithms used for the analysis and processing of non-stationary signals, as found in a wide range of applications including telecommunications, radar, and biomedical engineering. This book gives the university researcher and R&D engineer insights into how to use TFSAP methods to develop and implement the engineering application systems they require. New to this edition: - New sections on Efficient and Fast Algorithms; a "Getting Started" chapter enabling readers to start using the algorithms on simulated and real examples with the TFSAP toolbox, compare the results with the ones presented in the book and then insert the algorithms in their own applications and adapt them as needed. - Two new chapters and twenty three new sections, including updated references. - New topics including: efficient algorithms for optimal TFDs (with source code), the enhanced spectrogram, time-frequency modelling, more mathematical foundations, the relationships between QTFDs and Wavelet Transforms, new advanced applications such as cognitive radio, watermarking, noise reduction in the time-frequency domain, algorithms for Time-Frequency Image Processing, and Time-Frequency applications in neuroscience (new chapter). - A comprehensive tutorial introduction to Time-Frequency Signal Analysis and Processing (TFSAP), accessible to anyone who has taken a first course in signals - Key advances in theory, methodology and algorithms, are concisely presented by some of the leading authorities on the respective topics - Applications written by leading researchers showing how to use TFSAP methods
