Under these circumstances, be asked why it was that the public held towards the Profession, as a body. The language of dis paragement and distrust? Wh even in an enlightened assembly like the ones of Com mons, was the tone towards the Profession at large so unsatisfactory? Why were M essrs. Dodson and Fog or Messrs. Quirk, Gammon, and Snap, looks upon as fair specimens of the whole It was probable that many circum stances had combined to produce this result.
