Book Synopsis The Legacy of Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar and the Hamas Organization in Palestine – A militant Government facilitating Disregard for Innocent Life, Violent Extremism, Overpopulation and Suicide in Gaza by : Dr. Mark O'Doherty

Download or read book The Legacy of Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar and the Hamas Organization in Palestine – A militant Government facilitating Disregard for Innocent Life, Violent Extremism, Overpopulation and Suicide in Gaza written by Dr. Mark O'Doherty. This book was released on 2018-06-22. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Community should be advised that the Hamas governance of Gaza is in dispute - since the Hamas government is like a lost puppy - being responsible for violent extremism, political corruption and blatant human rights violations in Palestine. Also, Hamas has billions of dollars in investments in many countries, while people in Gaza starve to death. Hence it is imperative that peace and prosperity are manifested in Palestine; and that all parties start working towards a just and fair Middle East peace plan - so that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) can be manifested. It is equally important that the Bennett-Lapid government is fair and just; and that policies implemented are free from systemic injustices, so that equal rights and legal equality can be manifested in the land. After 15 years of siege the 2 million people of Gaza, living packed on a tiny strip find themselves without work, their economy killed off and without the bare essentials for decent life. The siege is fracturing minds, pushing the most sensitive and vulnerable to suicide in numbers never seen before; such as the suicide of Mohanned Younis, a 22-year-old student in Gaza, being symbolic of the misery and despair of the siege. Hence the blockade of the Gaza Strip must finally go. This also means that Hamas's extremist leaders - in particular Mr. Ismail Haniyeh, Mohammed Deif and Marwan Issa - need to reconcile and make peace with Israel. Otherwise the Gazans must find a new leadership, so that the Gaza blockade can finally be lifted, and the UDHR and can be manifested in the land. It is also essential that freedom of press, media freedom and rule of law prevails in Palestine, and that individuals and organizations - such as Hamas and Fatah - responsible for the killing of journalists and human rights activists are brought to justice. The International Community is advised to keep a safe distance from the Hamas and Fatah organisations; until they have agreed to improve themselves - by working together with the Bennett-Lapid government; so that equal rights can be manifested in the land, and the Gaza blockade can finally be lifted. To avoid a power vacuum in Israel-Palestine - in particular Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem - the NGO BTB-Global Peacebuilding will be handling matters in the meantime - such as domestic policy, foreign policy and human rights issues in Israel-Palestine.

Book Synopsis Human Rights and Personal Self-defense in International Law by : Jan Arno Hessbruegge

Download or read book Human Rights and Personal Self-defense in International Law written by Jan Arno Hessbruegge. This book was released on 2017. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While an abundance of literature covers the right of states to defend themselves against external aggression, this is the first book dedicated to the right to personal self-defense in international law. Dr. Hessbruegge sets out in careful detail the strict requirements that human rights impose on defensive force by law enforcement authorities, especially police killings in self-defense. The book also discusses the exceptional application of the right to personal self-defense in military-led operations, notably to contain violent civilians who do not directly participate in hostilities. The author establishes that international law gives individuals the right to forcibly resist human rights violations that pose a serious risk of significant and irreparable harm. At the same time, he calls into question prevailing state practice, which fails to recognize any collective right to organized armed resistance even when it constitutes the last resort to defend against genocide or other mass atrocities.
