Book Synopsis The Circular Economy and Its Implications on Sustainability and the Green Supply Chain by : Akkucuk, Ulas

Download or read book The Circular Economy and Its Implications on Sustainability and the Green Supply Chain written by Akkucuk, Ulas. This book was released on 2019-01-18. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the modern world, solid and liquid waste deposits are mounting due to increasing populations and wealth. Businesses are therefore being put under pressure to pay attention to the environmental and resource consequences of the products they produce and the services they deliver. The Circular Economy and Its Implications on Sustainability and the Green Supply Chain is a collection of innovative research on methods of extending biological cycles found in nature to technological cycles where goods, when disposed properly, are converted into new products in an environmentally efficient way. It examines current research on how to deal with the waste resulting from human activities, the relationship between environmental and human health, and international legislation on waste management. This book is ideally designed for economists, managers, practitioners, academicians, researchers, and students.

Book Synopsis Circular Economy, Industrial Ecology and Short Supply Chain by : Delphine Gallaud

Download or read book Circular Economy, Industrial Ecology and Short Supply Chain written by Delphine Gallaud. This book was released on 2016-06-20. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In contrast to the linear "take-make-dispose" model of resource consumption, a new industrial model is proposed in the form of a circular economy. This model aims to optimize the use of resources and to reduce or eliminate waste, and is based on re-use, repair, ecodesign, industrial ecology, sustainable supply and responsible consumption. Industrial ecology and short supply chains can contribute – particularly on a territorial scale – to the emergence of a real sustainable development. This book develops these concepts and presents experiments that are taking place in France and other countries, in addition to an integrated model which details the mechanisms through which industrial ecology and short supply chains can generate economic, social and environmental profits. The possible issues and obstacles facing these new practices are also analyzed, in order to develop the outline of an adapted management and governance which will enable them to be fully realized.

Book Synopsis Green Circular Economy by : Pardeep Singh

Download or read book Green Circular Economy written by Pardeep Singh. This book was released on 2023-11-13. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights the concepts, issues and policies related to the circular economy. The chapters of this book are designed to include the theoretical approach to the green circular economy, sustainable supply chain and challenges in the green circular economy. The book is a step towards designing sustainable circular economy embedded production and management practices. This book also addresses the capability of green-lean productions and a circular economy to improve resource efficiency and address environmental sustainability issues. Environmental sustainability is a hot topic in politics, science, and industry. There is a need to achieve economic, social, and environmental sustainability goals through adaptations of the green circular economy, which can help minimize greenhouse gas emissions, toxic pollutant releases, waste and energy and resource usage by employing renewable energy concepts and recyclable materials. The production processes must be resource-efficient and environmentally friendly, including green-lean manufacturing. Adopting a circular economy in manufacturing is less evident than green-lean management. However, systematic strategies to bridge this gap have yet to be devised. There is an urgent need to fully explore the Circular Economy concept to attain resource and environmental goals for the sustainability of the environment in the present era of global climate change. Its framework's powerful strategies need to solve the problem created by linear economic growth through industrialization and gross economic growth. There is a need to improve the sustainability management capabilities in the manufacturing and industrial sector to support the circular economy and a need to examine the impact of green human resource management. This book proposes the combined approach of green-lean solutions and a green circular economy. Through this book, we try to produce the content and information in a compiled form to give the audience an understanding of the circular economy concept framework and challenges.
