Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Study from the year 2018 in the subject Chemistry - Anorganic Chemistry, grade: 10, , language: English, abstract: Nanoscience is the study of phenomena exhibited by materials at atomic, molecular and macromolecular levels, of dimensions ranging from a few nanometres to less than a hundred nanometres. In chemistry, this size range has been associated with colloids, micelles, polymer molecules and similar structures. In physical and electrical engineering, nanoscience is often associated with quantum behaviour, and electron behaviour in nanoscale structures. The area of research in the field of nanotechnology is as diverse as physics, chemistry, material science, microbiology, biochemistry and also molecular biology. The interface of nanotechnology in combination with biotechnology and biomedical engineering has emerged with the use of nanoscale structures in diagnosis, gene sequencing, and drug delivery. Nanoparticles have attracted great interest in recent years because of their unique chemical and physical properties, which are different from those of either the bulk materials or single atoms. Nanostructure materials have potential applications in ceramics, optoelectronics and catalysis. Research on the synthesis of nanomaterials using metal complexes as precursors have been less reported. Application of metal complexes as precursors may be helpful to control the physical properties of metal nanoparticles. In the last few years, researchers have characterized the tunable properties by altering the nanostructure size, shape, and chemical composition and have developed reproducible strategies to make nanostructures of desired properties. It has been already proved that by controlling the size of the particle and manipulating surface structures of the semiconductor materials, the electronic, magnetic, mechanical, and chemical properties can be modified to suit a wide range of device application in many fields. The present book deals with the synthesis of Schiff base complexes of Cd(II), Zn(II) and Hg(II) with different sulphur containing ligand and preparation of metal sulphide nanoparticle by the thermal decomposition of complex precursor. During this academic journey four new sulphur containing ligands and their thirty complexes were synthesized. These ligands and complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods like UV-Vis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, 2D-NMR, FAB-MS / ESI-Ms spectra.

Book excerpt: An introduction to the science of nanoparticles, from fundamental principles to their use in novel applications. As a basis for understanding nanoparticle behavior, the book first outlines the principles of quantum size behavior, nanoparticles architecture, formation of semiconductor and metal nanoparticles. It then goes on to describe the chemical syntheses of nanoparticles with defined characteristics, their structural, electrical and magnetic properties, as well as current methods to monitor these properties. Among others, the following nanoparticle-based applications are discussed: Single-electron devices Ultra dense recording media Bioelectronic devices and sensors Labeling of proteins, nucleic acids and other biomaterials. With its clear structure and comprehensive coverage, backed by numerous examples from the recent literature, this is a prime reference for chemists and materials scientists working with and developing nanoparticle systems.

Book Synopsis Stability and Applications of Coordination Compounds by : Abhay Nanda Srivastva

Download or read book Stability and Applications of Coordination Compounds written by Abhay Nanda Srivastva. This book was released on 2020-07-08. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the current era of incessant developing needs for the betterment and ease in living style for humans, technology is seeking upgraded, well structured materials for utilization in various fields of human-wellness such as medication, energy, environment protection and cleaning, food security etc. In the same direction, chemists are doing very well at synthesizing compounds and materials from different groups of chemicals. Among them, coordination compounds also play a key role in serving humanity as these compounds have a wide range of applications in health care from antimicrobial to anticancer, bioengineering, bio-mimetic models, catalysis, photosensitized materials etc. Along with development of stable coordination compounds, their extensive structural studies are also in the main line of work for researchers. Twenty-nine authors from different countries have contributed their scientific views and work in magnifying the importance and scope of coordination compounds in the present book entitled “Stability and Applications of Coordination Compounds”. I hope that the book will achieve its target of supplementing the community of researchers and readers working in the field of coordination chemistry.

Book Synopsis Ruthenium Chemistry by : Ajay Kumar Mishra

Download or read book Ruthenium Chemistry written by Ajay Kumar Mishra. This book was released on 2018-01-17. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book will describe Ruthenium complexes as chemotherapeutic agent specifically at tumor site. It has been the most challenging task in the area of cancer therapy. Nanoparticles are now emerging as the most effective alternative to traditional chemotherapeutic approach. Nanoparticles have been shown to be useful in this respect. However, in view of organ system complicacies, instead of using nanoparticles as a delivery tool, it will be more appropriate to synthesize a drug of nanoparticle size that can use blood transport mechanism to reach the tumor site and regress cancer. Due to less toxicity and effective bio-distribution, ruthenium (Ru) complexes are of much current interest. Additionally, lumiscent Ru-complexes can be synthesized in nanoparticle size and can be directly traced at tissue level. The book will contain the synthesis, characterization, and applications of various Ruthenium complexes as chemotherapeutic agents. The book will also cover the introduction to chemotherapy, classification of Ru- complexes with respect to their oxidation states and geometry, Ruthenium complexes of nano size: shape and binding- selectivity, binding of ruthenium complexes with DNA, DNA cleavage studies and cytotoxicity. The present book will be more beneficial to researchers, scientists and biomedical. Current book will empower specially to younger generation to create a new world of ruthenium chemistry in material science as well as in medicines. This book will be also beneficial to national/international research laboratories, and academia with interest in the area of coordination chemistry more especially to the Ruthenium compounds and its applications.
