Book Synopsis Structural Design and Controllable Preparation of the Function-Directed Crystalline Materials by : Maochun Hong

Download or read book Structural Design and Controllable Preparation of the Function-Directed Crystalline Materials written by Maochun Hong. This book was released on 2023-11-21. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the findings of a major research program investigating structural design and controllable preparation of function-directed crystalline materials. The program was launched by the National Natural Science Foundation of China during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, which was started in October 2008 and concluded at the end of 2016. This book first summarizes the overall scientific objectives and the current state of the art of crystalline materials research in China and the international frontier. It also focuses on exploring the relationships between structures, compositions, and properties of crystalline materials and proposes new mechanisms and models for new materials exploration. In addition, it introduces a new functional-motif theory that can guide the development of crystalline materials with optical, electrical, and other composite functions and presents new research methods for the controlled synthesis and assembly of crystalline materials, and detection and characterization of functional motifs. Furthermore, practical applications for materials such as photoelectric conversion materials, nonlinear optical materials, laser and fluorescent crystal materials, and ferroelectric and microwave dielectric materials have been described. Given its scope, this book is of interest to researchers who work in crystalline materials. It also promotes the multidisciplinary collaboration among chemistry, materials science, and physics.

Book Synopsis Introduction to Condensed Matter Chemistry by : Jihong Yu

Download or read book Introduction to Condensed Matter Chemistry written by Jihong Yu. This book was released on 2024-06-10. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Condensed Matter Chemistry offers a general view of chemistry from the perspective of condensed matter chemistry, analyzing and contrasting chemical reactions in a more realistic setting than traditional thinking. Readers will also find discussions on the goals and major scientific questions in condensed matter chemistry and the molecular engineering of functional condensed matter. Processes and products of chemical reactions should not be determined solely by the structure and composition of these basic species but also by the complex and possibly multilevel structured physical and chemical environment, together referred to as their condensed state. Relevant matters in condensed state should be the main bodies of chemical reactions, which is applicable not only to solids and liquids but also to gas molecules as reactions among gas molecules can take place only in the presence of catalysts in specific condensed states or after their state transition under extreme reaction conditions. This book provides new insights on the liquid state chemistry, definitions, aspects, and interactions, summarizing fundamentals of main chemical reactions from a new perspective. Helps to establish the new field of Condensed Matter Chemistry Highlights the molecular engineering of functional condensed matter Focuses on both liquid and solid state chemistry

Book Synopsis Modern Inorganic Synthetic Chemistry by : Ruren Xu

Download or read book Modern Inorganic Synthetic Chemistry written by Ruren Xu. This book was released on 2017-02-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern Inorganic Synthetic Chemistry, Second Edition captures, in five distinct sections, the latest advancements in inorganic synthetic chemistry, providing materials chemists, chemical engineers, and materials scientists with a valuable reference source to help them advance their research efforts and achieve breakthroughs. Section one includes six chapters centering on synthetic chemistry under specific conditions, such as high-temperature, low-temperature and cryogenic, hydrothermal and solvothermal, high-pressure, photochemical and fusion conditions. Section two focuses on the synthesis and related chemistry problems of highly distinct categories of inorganic compounds, including superheavy elements, coordination compounds and coordination polymers, cluster compounds, organometallic compounds, inorganic polymers, and nonstoichiometric compounds. Section three elaborates on the synthetic chemistry of five important classes of inorganic functional materials, namely, ordered porous materials, carbon materials, advanced ceramic materials, host-guest materials, and hierarchically structured materials. Section four consists of four chapters where the synthesis of functional inorganic aggregates is discussed, giving special attention to the growth of single crystals, assembly of nanomaterials, and preparation of amorphous materials and membranes. The new edition’s biggest highlight is Section five where the frontier in inorganic synthetic chemistry is reviewed by focusing on biomimetic synthesis and rationally designed synthesis. Focuses on the chemistry of inorganic synthesis, assembly, and organization of wide-ranging inorganic systems Covers all major methodologies of inorganic synthesis Provides state-of-the-art synthetic methods Includes real examples in the organization of complex inorganic functional materials Contains more than 4000 references that are all highly reflective of the latest advancement in inorganic synthetic chemistry Presents a comprehensive coverage of the key issues involved in modern inorganic synthetic chemistry as written by experts in the field
