Book Synopsis Solid Modelling and CAD Systems by : Ian Stroud

Download or read book Solid Modelling and CAD Systems written by Ian Stroud. This book was released on 2011-05-02. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Solid Modelling and CAD Systems gives users an insight into the methods and problems associated with CAD systems. It acts as a bridge between users who learn interfaces without understanding how they work and developers who create systems without understanding the needs of the users. The main feature of Solid Modelling and CAD Systems is a logical analysis of the techniques and basic solid modelling methods used in modern CAD systems. The book goes on to describe, among other subjects: two-dimensional shape definition methods, the command interface and graphics, databases and data exchange, early-phase design, and command files and command structures. Reading Solid Modelling and CAD Systems will help users understand the limitations of the techniques they are using and will enable practitioners to use CAD systems more efficiently. It is a valuable tool for designers, as well as for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students. The exercises it contains allow readers to try out different aspects of the subject matter and the book also includes projects that can be used for teaching purposes.

Book Synopsis Solid Modeling and Applications by : Dugan Um

Download or read book Solid Modeling and Applications written by Dugan Um. This book was released on 2018-03-20. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This updated, second edition provides readers with an expanded treatment of the FEM as well as new information on recent trends in rapid prototyping technology. The new edition features more descriptions, exercises, and questions within each chapter. In addition, more in-depth surface theory has been introduced in section four, with particular emphasis in surface theory. Promising cutting edge technologies in the area of rapid prototyping are introduced in section seven, MATLAB-based FEM analysis has been added in section eight, and development of the plan stress and plane strain stiffness equations are introduced as a new chapter. Revised and updated based on student feedback, Solid Modeling and Applications: Rapid Prototyping, CAD and CAE Theory is ideal for university students in various engineering disciplines as well as design engineers involved in product design, analysis, and validation. It equips them with an understanding of the theory and essentials and also with practical skills needed to apply this understanding in real world design and manufacturing settings.

Book Synopsis Parametric Solid Modeling Projects by : Prof. Sham Tickoo

Download or read book Parametric Solid Modeling Projects written by Prof. Sham Tickoo. This book was released on . Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Parametric Solid Modeling Projects is a parametric modeling book written to help users to learn and design real-world models. Structured in pedagogical sequence, the book contains real world engineering projects that begin with simple part assemblies and then progress toward designing complex industrial models. After completing this book, the students will be able to design other real world/Industrial projects with ease. Additionally, they will be able to design all components, develop assemblies, and generate 2D drawings of the parts and assemblies along with bill of material. In this book, ANSI drafting standard have been followed. Salient Features: Consists of 14 projects that are organized in pedagogical sequence. Real-world mechanical engineering drawings used as projects. Project-based approach used for completing the projects and better understanding. Standard parts like Nuts, Bolts, Gears, Bearing, and so on are taken from the toolbox available in different CAD software (With ANSI standards). Technical support by contacting '[email protected]'. Download or read book CAD Data Transfer for Solid Models written by E.G. Schlechtendahl. This book was released on 2013-11-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Principal authors: U. Kroszynski, B. Palstr9Sm 1.1 The evolution of concepts and specifications for CAD data exchange The CAD/CAM community has witnessed, during the last decade, the appearance of several specifications as well as proposals for standards which either attempt to cover wider areas or to be more reliable and stable than the others. With the rapid evolution of both hardware and software, the capabilities offered by CAD systems and CAD based application systems are far more advanced than they were only ten years ago, even when they are now based on micro-computers or personal comput ers. The situation with standards, however, is not and cannot be so. In order to be reliable and accepted by a wide community of both vendors and users, a standard has to be sta ble. This implies a life span of at least a decade. This also implies that the standard has to be general and flexible enough to accommodate present as well as expected future developments. 1.1.1 IGES The initial development of concepts for CAD data exchange is strongly influenced by the US Integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing (ICAM) programme, that dealt with the development of methods for data exchange. In September 1979, a subgroup was estab lished with participation of the National Bureau of Standards, the General Electric Com pany, and the Boeing Company. The result of this effort was the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES) that was published as a NBS report [61] in 1980.
