Book Synopsis Smart Agrochemicals for Sustainable Agriculture by : Katarzyna Chojnacka

Download or read book Smart Agrochemicals for Sustainable Agriculture written by Katarzyna Chojnacka. This book was released on 2021-12-01. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Smart Agrochemicals for Sustainable Agriculture proposes products that fulfill the need for chemicals that provide a sustainable delivery system for nutrients necessary to maximize the production of agricultural animals and plants while producing the smallest possible environmental footprint. This book addresses all aspects related to the production process, including chemical formulas, stability of formulations, and the application of the effect of its utilization. Over the past decade, biobased chemicals have received significant attention as candidate resource materials in fertilizers and agrochemicals production due to their renewability. Substitution of conventional raw materials with biobased requires a new approach towards the development of technology. On the other hand, the use of biobased chemicals, such as biostimulants, bioregulators and biofertilizers offers a new palette of products that are natural, thus their application does not pose an impact on the environment (residues) or cultivated plants. - Presents ideas for new products that provide appropriate nutrition while limiting environmental footprints - Includes a full range of the production process, from chemical formulas to establishing the stability of formulations, applications and effects - Offers a host of new products that are natural and whose applications do not negatively impact the environment nor cultivated plants

Book Synopsis Advances in Nanotechnology for Smart Agriculture by : Parul Chaudhary

Download or read book Advances in Nanotechnology for Smart Agriculture written by Parul Chaudhary. This book was released on 2023-06-15. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The yield of major agricultural crops can be severely decreased due to the inappropriate application of commonly used harmful chemicals. Excessive agrochemicals in field application can negatively affect microbial populations and their diversity, which in turn ultimately affects plant growth. Thus, it is necessary to turn toward more eco-friendly approaches which equally protect crops as well as the desirable microbial populations of complex soil systems. Nanoparticles are considered as potential agents for the production and development of sustainable agriculture. Green synthesis of nanoparticles has gained attention as a useful measure to diminish the harmful effects associated with the old methods of nanoparticle synthesis. Advances in Nanotechnology for Smart Agriculture: Techniques and Applications illustrates the science and practical applications of nanoparticles for sustainable agriculture. Features: Examines the role of nanotechnology in agricultural best practices, including sustainable development, precision farming, and long-term soil health

Book Synopsis Biofertilizers and Biopesticides in Sustainable Agriculture by : B. D. Kaushik

Download or read book Biofertilizers and Biopesticides in Sustainable Agriculture written by B. D. Kaushik. This book was released on 2019-10-23. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new volume, Biofertilizers and Biopesticides in Sustainable Agriculture, presents strategies for the management of soil and crop diseases. Microbes have attracted worldwide attention due to their role in disease management and remediation of polluted soils. Taking a sustainable approach, this book explores the means of integrating various microbial management approaches to achieve the desired levels of crop yield under both conventional soils and neglected soils through the use of biopesticides and other botanicals as well as biomolecules. This book also presents a broad and updated view of molecular nitrogen fixation and phosphate-solubilizing and sulfur-transforming microbes for nutrition of crops in relation to the role of metal tolerant microbes in providing protection to plants grown in metal-contaminated soils. The preparation and application of biofertilizers, utilization of household waste materials, and use of genetically modified microorganisms (GMOs) in plant growth and development are also well discussed in the volume.

Book Synopsis Smart Fertilizers and Innovative Organic Amendments for Sustainable Agricultural Systems by : Maria de la Luz Mora

Download or read book Smart Fertilizers and Innovative Organic Amendments for Sustainable Agricultural Systems written by Maria de la Luz Mora. This book was released on 2022-01-27. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sustainable agricultural practices are needed to provide food security for a growing global population. Food production is usually associated with high nutrient inputs in the form of mineral fertilizers. Since the beginning of agriculture, such practices have led to soil degradation and the release of environmental contaminants. In this Special Issue, we will focus on innovations in organic and inorganic fertilizer production. We welcome studies concerning new approaches for smart fertilizer development, including bioformulations with mineral particles, nanomaterials, and plant growth promoting microorganisms. We especially encourage authors taking advantage of ecological interactions to improve plant nutrient-use efficiency. Moreover, we would like to include contributions that focus on organic amendments to increase or propitiate the terrestrial C sequestration and stabilization, in order to contribute to mitigating climate change at the same time increasing food security by soil fertility, thus making win-win-win scenarios. Such techniques may concern, but are not limited to, innovative organic waste recycling procedures and new applications of mycorrhizae, rhizobioms, or free living soil bacteria and fungi.
