Here, the Laplace transform follows Fourier, rather than the reverse; continuous-time and discrete-time systems are treated sequentially, rather than interwoven. In Signal Processing and Linear Systems Lathi emphasizes the physical appreciation of concepts rather than the mere mathematical manipulation of symbols.
