He is the head of the church and holds it in His hand (Rev. 2:1). He is the Alpha and Omega, implying His eternality (Rev. 1:8, 11; 21:6; 22:13). He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Rev. 5:5), thus by virtue of His birth in the tribe of Judah, He has the right to the throne of David.
