Book Synopsis Remote Sensing and Actuation Using Unmanned Vehicles by : Haiyang Chao

Download or read book Remote Sensing and Actuation Using Unmanned Vehicles written by Haiyang Chao. This book was released on 2012-08-28. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unmanned systems and robotics technologies have become very popular recently owing to their ability to replace human beings in dangerous, tedious, or repetitious jobs. This book fill the gap in the field between research and real-world applications, providing scientists and engineers with essential information on how to design and employ networked unmanned vehicles for remote sensing and distributed control purposes. Target scenarios include environmental or agricultural applications such as river/reservoir surveillance, wind profiling measurement, and monitoring/control of chemical leaks.

Book Synopsis Cooperative Remote Sensing and Actuation Using Networked Unmanned Vehicles by : Haiyang Chao

Download or read book Cooperative Remote Sensing and Actuation Using Networked Unmanned Vehicles written by Haiyang Chao. This book was released on 2010. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation focuses on how to design and employ networked unmanned vehicles for remote sensing and distributed control purposes in the current information-rich world. The target scenarios are environmental or agricultural applications such as river/reservoir surveillance, wind profiling measurement, and monitoring/control of chemical leaks, etc. AggieAir, a small and low-cost unmanned aircraft system, is designed based on the re- mote sensing requirements from environmental monitoring missions. The state estimation problem and the advanced lateral °ight controller design problem are further attacked focusing on the small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platform. Then the UAV-based remote sensing problem is focused with further flight test results. Given the measurements from unmanned vehicles, the actuation algorithms are needed for missions like the diffusion control. A consensus-based central Voronoi tessellation (CVT) algorithm is proposed for better control of the diffusion process. Finally, the dissertation conclusion and some new research suggestions are presented.

Book Synopsis Recent Remote Sensing Sensor Applications by : Maged Marghany

Download or read book Recent Remote Sensing Sensor Applications written by Maged Marghany. This book was released on 2022-10-26. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive overview of remote sensing and its various applications. In remote sensing applications, various sensors that begin as both active and passive sensors are used. Active remote sensing transmits electromagnetic radiation that is both emitted and reflected, in contrast to passive remote sensing, which merely measures electromagnetic radiation that is reflected from the target. This book includes nine chapters that examine remote sensing for detecting ice, tracking and monitoring deforestation, identifying crop regions infected with disease, mineral and geological mapping, and much more.
