Book Synopsis Processing, Estimation and Measurement of Signals Parameters in Public Distribution Networks by : Predrag Petrović

Download or read book Processing, Estimation and Measurement of Signals Parameters in Public Distribution Networks written by Predrag Petrović. This book was released on 2023-09-28. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book addresses a relevant field of digital processing and measurement of signals in distribution networks. The importance of the covered topic is evidenced by extensive foreign and domestic professional literature, in the form of publications in leading international journals, and numerous professional and scientific books. For the past two decades, the author has published a number of papers both in international journals and at leading world conferences, further verifying the results he has achieved in this field. It should be noted that he is also the holder of several national patents, which were created precisely as a result of working on the problems of processing complex signals of voltage and current. Readers of this book will be the students of master and doctoral studies both in the country and abroad and experts in the field of signal processing. It is a valuable source for future authors of professional and scientific papers, as a basis on which to start when developing completely new techniques for processing complex signals not only in the power system, but also in other fields of engineering and everyday life.

Book Synopsis New Digital Signal Processing Methods by : Raoul R. Nigmatullin

Download or read book New Digital Signal Processing Methods written by Raoul R. Nigmatullin. This book was released on 2020-05-23. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended as a manual on modern advanced statistical methods for signal processing. The objectives of signal processing are the analysis, synthesis, and modification of signals measured from different natural phenomena, including engineering applications as well. Often the measured signals are affected by noise, distortion and incompleteness, and this makes it difficult to extract significant signal information. The main topic of the book is the extraction of significant information from measured data, with the aim of reducing the data size while keeping the basic information/knowledge about the peculiarities and properties of the analyzed system; to this aim, advanced and recently developed methods in signal analysis and treatment are introduced and described in depth. More in details, the book covers the following new advanced topics (and the corresponding algorithms), including detailed descriptions and discussions: the Eigen-Coordinates (ECs) method, The statistics of the fractional moments, The quantitative "universal" label (QUL) and the universal distribution function for the relative fluctuations (UDFRF), the generalized Prony spectrum, the Non-orthogonal Amplitude Frequency Analysis of the Smoothed Signals (NAFASS), the discrete geometrical invariants (DGI) serving as the common platform for quantitative comparison of different random functions. Although advanced topics are discussed in signal analysis, each subject is introduced gradually, with the use of only the necessary mathematics, and avoiding unnecessary abstractions. Each chapter presents testing and verification examples on real data for each proposed method. In comparison with other books, here it is adopted a more practical approach with numerous real case studies.

Book Synopsis Principles of Signal Detection and Parameter Estimation by : Bernard C. Levy

Download or read book Principles of Signal Detection and Parameter Estimation written by Bernard C. Levy. This book was released on 2008-07-07. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook provides a comprehensive and current understanding of signal detection and estimation, including problems and solutions for each chapter. Signal detection plays an important role in fields such as radar, sonar, digital communications, image processing, and failure detection. The book explores both Gaussian detection and detection of Markov chains, presenting a unified treatment of coding and modulation topics. Addresses asymptotic of tests with the theory of large deviations, and robust detection. This text is appropriate for students of Electrical Engineering in graduate courses in Signal Detection and Estimation.
