Book excerpt: En relacion con el deporte y dentro del ambito de la psicologia del deporte hemos estudiado la personalidad del deportista y los estados depresivos en el deporte. El trabajo ha sido realizado en el Centro de Evaluacion Medico deportiva de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Para el estudio de la personalidad hemos utilizado el Cuestionario Factorial de Personalidad (16PF) de Cattel. Para el estudio de la depresion hemos utilizado el Cuestionario Estructural Tetradimensional para la Depresion (CET DE) del Profesor Alonso-Fernandez. Los resultados obtenidos indican que: El deporte de competicion determina la existencia de una serie de rasgos de personalidad caracteristicos y peculiares en el atleta. La incidencia de depresion en el deporte es alta, siendo caracteristica la depresion unidimensional.
