Book excerpt: In plenty of realistic situations, multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) is ubiquitous and significant in daily activities of individuals and organizations. Among diverse tools for coping with MAGDM, granular computing-based approaches constitute a series of viable and efficient theories by means of multi-view problem solving strategies. In this paper, in order to handle MAGDM issues with interval-valued neutrosophic (IN) information, we adopt one of the granular computing (GrC)-based approaches, known as multigranulation probabilistic models, to address IN MAGDM problems.

Book excerpt: This paper presents a new method for group multi-attribute decision-making (GMADM) based on interval neutrosophic sets, where decision makers determine the weights and the evaluating values of the attributes with respect to the available alternatives by using interval neutrosophic values. In comparison with other existing methods involving group multi-attribute decision making, that only consider crisp or incomplete information, the proposed method, based on interval neutrosophic sets, can handle not only incomplete information but also indeterminate and inconsistent information which is common in real-world situations. Therefore, the method presented in this paper can be more effective and efficient than other decision-making methods.

Book excerpt: Take the third-party logistics providers (3PLs) as an example, according to the characteristics of correlation between attributes in multi-attribute decision-making, two Choquet aggregation operators adoping probabilistic neutrosophic hesitation fuzzy elements (PNHFEs) are proposed to cope with the situations of correlation among criterions. This measure not only provides support for the correlation phenomenon between internal attributes, but also fully concerns the incidental uncertainty of the external space. Our goal is to make it easier for decision makers to cope with this uncertainty, thus we establish the notion of probabilistic neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy Choquet averaging (geometric) (PNHFCOA, PNHFCOG) operator. Based on this foundation, a method for aggregating decision makers’ information is proposed, and then the optimal decision scheme is obtained. Finally, an example of selecting optimal 3PL is given to demonstrate the objectivity of the above-mentioned standpoint.

Book excerpt: Fuzzy information in venture capital can be well expressed by neutrosophic numbers, and TODIM method is an effective tool for multi-attribute decision-making. The distance measure is an essential step in TODIM method. The keystone of this paper is to define several new distance measures, in particular the improved interval neutrosophic Euclidean distance, and these measures are applied in the TODIM method for multi-attribute decision-making. Firstly, the normalized generalized interval neutrosophic Hausdorff distance is defined and proved to be valid in this paper. Secondly, we define a weighted parameter interval neutrosophic distance and discuss whether different weight parameters affect the decision result based on TODIM method. Thirdly, considering the preference perspective of decision-makers in behavioral economics, we define the improved interval neutrosophic Euclidean distance with the known parameter of risk preference. Finally, an application example is given to compare the effects of different parameters on the result and discuss the feasibility of these two distance measures in TODIM method.
