Book Synopsis Machine Learning Control by Symbolic Regression by : Askhat Diveev

Download or read book Machine Learning Control by Symbolic Regression written by Askhat Diveev. This book was released on 2021-10-23. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides comprehensive coverage on a new direction in computational mathematics research: automatic search for formulas. Formulas must be sought in all areas of science and life: these are the laws of the universe, the macro and micro world, fundamental physics, engineering, weather and natural disasters forecasting; the search for new laws in economics, politics, sociology. Accumulating many years of experience in the development and application of numerical methods of symbolic regression to solving control problems, the authors offer new possibilities not only in the field of control automation, but also in the design of completely different optimal structures in many fields. For specialists in the field of control, Machine Learning Control by Symbolic Regression opens up a new promising direction of research and acquaints scientists with the methods of automatic construction of control systems. For specialists in the field of machine learning, the book opens up a new, much broader direction than neural networks: methods of symbolic regression. This book makes it easy to master this new area in machine learning and apply this approach everywhere neural networks are used. For mathematicians, the book opens up a new approach to the construction of numerical methods for obtaining analytical solutions to unsolvable problems; for example, numerical analytical solutions of algebraic equations, differential equations, non-trivial integrals, etc. For specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, the book offers a machine way to solve problems, framed in the form of analytical relationships.

Book Synopsis Machine Learning Control – Taming Nonlinear Dynamics and Turbulence by : Thomas Duriez

Download or read book Machine Learning Control – Taming Nonlinear Dynamics and Turbulence written by Thomas Duriez. This book was released on 2016-11-02. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first textbook on a generally applicable control strategy for turbulence and other complex nonlinear systems. The approach of the book employs powerful methods of machine learning for optimal nonlinear control laws. This machine learning control (MLC) is motivated and detailed in Chapters 1 and 2. In Chapter 3, methods of linear control theory are reviewed. In Chapter 4, MLC is shown to reproduce known optimal control laws for linear dynamics (LQR, LQG). In Chapter 5, MLC detects and exploits a strongly nonlinear actuation mechanism of a low-dimensional dynamical system when linear control methods are shown to fail. Experimental control demonstrations from a laminar shear-layer to turbulent boundary-layers are reviewed in Chapter 6, followed by general good practices for experiments in Chapter 7. The book concludes with an outlook on the vast future applications of MLC in Chapter 8. Matlab codes are provided for easy reproducibility of the presented results. The book includes interviews with leading researchers in turbulence control (S. Bagheri, B. Batten, M. Glauser, D. Williams) and machine learning (M. Schoenauer) for a broader perspective. All chapters have exercises and supplemental videos will be available through YouTube.

Download or read book Genetic Programming Theory and Practice II written by Una-May O'Reilly. This book was released on 2006-03-16. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The work described in this book was first presented at the Second Workshop on Genetic Programming, Theory and Practice, organized by the Center for the Study of Complex Systems at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 13-15 May 2004. The goal of this workshop series is to promote the exchange of research results and ideas between those who focus on Genetic Programming (GP) theory and those who focus on the application of GP to various re- world problems. In order to facilitate these interactions, the number of talks and participants was small and the time for discussion was large. Further, participants were asked to review each other's chapters before the workshop. Those reviewer comments, as well as discussion at the workshop, are reflected in the chapters presented in this book. Additional information about the workshop, addendums to chapters, and a site for continuing discussions by participants and by others can be found at http://cscs.umich.edu:8000/GPTP-20041. We thank all the workshop participants for making the workshop an exciting and productive three days. In particular we thank all the authors, without whose hard work and creative talents, neither the workshop nor the book would be possible. We also thank our keynote speakers Lawrence ("Dave") Davis of NuTech Solutions, Inc., Jordan Pollack of Brandeis University, and Richard Lenski of Michigan State University, who delivered three thought-provoking speeches that inspired a great deal of discussion among the participants.

Book Synopsis Automated Machine Learning by : Frank Hutter

Download or read book Automated Machine Learning written by Frank Hutter. This book was released on 2019-05-17. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book presents the first comprehensive overview of general methods in Automated Machine Learning (AutoML), collects descriptions of existing systems based on these methods, and discusses the first series of international challenges of AutoML systems. The recent success of commercial ML applications and the rapid growth of the field has created a high demand for off-the-shelf ML methods that can be used easily and without expert knowledge. However, many of the recent machine learning successes crucially rely on human experts, who manually select appropriate ML architectures (deep learning architectures or more traditional ML workflows) and their hyperparameters. To overcome this problem, the field of AutoML targets a progressive automation of machine learning, based on principles from optimization and machine learning itself. This book serves as a point of entry into this quickly-developing field for researchers and advanced students alike, as well as providing a reference for practitioners aiming to use AutoML in their work.
