Book Synopsis Integrated Planning of Heat Flows in Production Systems by : Denis Kurle

Download or read book Integrated Planning of Heat Flows in Production Systems written by Denis Kurle. This book was released on 2018-02-10. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book presents an integrated planning concept for heat flows in production systems comprising various short term and long term related models. Detailed explanations about the modeling and implementation of all relevant system elements such as generic and specific machines types, technical building services (TBS), production planning and control aspects, heat storage units and (waste) heat designs follow. Due to resulting amounts of data, the concept foresees system level appropriate indicators and visualizations for a facilitatedevaluation of the model results. An application procedure embeds and describes all models as well.Three exemplary application cases demonstrate the applicability, including the manufacturing of shafts for automotive transmissions, a cooling water system and an academic learning environment.

Book Synopsis Planning of Eco-efficient Process Chains for Automotive Component Manufacturing by : Christopher Schmidt

Download or read book Planning of Eco-efficient Process Chains for Automotive Component Manufacturing written by Christopher Schmidt. This book was released on 2021-01-04. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book includes the introduction of emerging manufacturing technologies and planning cases with established technologies. The planning of eco-efficient process chains is crucial for manufacturing companies. However, in the state-of-the-art planning, various barriers exist towards the integration of the environmental dimension. Against this background, a concept for the integration of classic lean and environmental criteria into the three planning phases of process chains is presented. During concept planning, the Technology Assessment Tool supports planners in the identification of eco-efficient technologies. During rough planning, the Value Stream Design Tool enables the derivation of a production line based on workpiece characteristics. For detailed planning, tools for eco-efficient machine and process chain configuration are provided. Three case studies from large-scale automotive component manufacturing with established and emerging technologies demonstrate the tool applicability.

Book Synopsis Group Technology by : E.A. Arn

Download or read book Group Technology written by E.A. Arn. This book was released on 2012-12-06. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Group Technology (GT) as a manufacturing concept has gained steady interest within the machine building industry all over the world. Originally it was used more or less only in the so-called parts family manufacturing concept. With growing opportunities for using the computer in the design process, operating planning and layout planning, the potential advantages became more and more obvious. In order to implement GT successfully and with a view to improving the overall economic situation of a production company, it is necessary to consider all aspects of the com plete manufacturing system. Experience has shown, that in the first stage a general basis has to be formed. This is done by a clear and practical definition of three GT manufacturing systems, the devel opment of a set of classification systems for work pieces, working operations and man ufacturing equipment, and in building a data bank from which a data basis for the GT planning process can be evaluated. A second stage of implementation then considers the particular aspects of GT. These are, firstly, a concept for layout and investment planning based on a representative parts spectrum; secondly, for application of the GT-idea in the design process three similar types of parts are to be developed as a logical supplement to the standard and recurring parts practice; thirdly, a three stage process planning and work measurement system can be developed for the so defined spectrum of similar parts.

Book excerpt: This is an invaluable five-volume reference on the very broad and highly significant subject of computer aided and integrated manufacturing systems. It is a set of distinctly titled and well-harmonized volumes by leading experts on the international scene. The techniques and technologies used in computer aided and integrated manufacturing systems have produced, and will no doubt continue to produce, major annual improvements in productivity, which is defined as the goods and services produced from each hour of work. This publication deals particularly with more effective utilization of labor and capital, especially information technology systems. Together the five volumes treat comprehensively the major techniques and technologies that are involved.
