Although artificial incubation is not new, it is only in recent vears that it has come into prominence, and there are, as yet, considerable conjecture and uncertainty concerning the causes of success or failure. If this book throws any light upon the subject, or assists the amateur incubator-operator to secure better results, or in any way hastens the day when the artificial method will, to the advantage of all concerned, entirely supersede the natural one, its mission will have been fulfilled.
