Book excerpt: This authoritative manual is written by 2 businessmen who have been "in the trenches" of the business sector for over 20 years & have survived gut wrenching IRS audits. Written in an easy to understand, entertaining, down to earth manner in layman's terms, this manual is loaded with strategies, tips & inside information giving sound advice on how to properly handle that invisible "monster" called the IRS. These practical guidelines address frequently encountered problems such as filing audit proof-tax returns, going through an IRS audit & owing money to the taxman. The authors discuss how the "rich" pay less while ordinary citizens pay more due to our unfair tax system. Readers are informed of how government corruption & the unprecedented contempt of politicians for our welfare are dividing our country into a two-class society, the "haves" & the "have-nots". These thought provoking revelations will turn passive taxpayers into informed, pro-active, action oriented voters. There is something for every "angry" taxpayer in this survival manual, destined to become a favorite reference among those who can't afford expensive professional advice. Book Synopsis Beat an IRS Audit by : James O. Parker

Download or read book Beat an IRS Audit written by James O. Parker. This book was released on 2007. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No one wants to be audited by the IRS. Even taxpayers who are certain that their returns were accurate and all of their deductions and other tax write-offs are justifiable are somewhat intimidated by the receipt of notice from the IRS that they have been selected for an audit. Having to offer proof of income, deductions, exemptions and credits, especially if the proof may be missing or inadequate, can be unnerving. Even more unsettling is that the IRS auditor can still disagree with your proof even when you have all your receipts. Beat an IRS Audit provides readers with everything they need to know to handle an audit. From discussing information on avoiding the audit in the first place, to explaining what steps to take to prepare for one if selected, the entire process is simplified and made understandable.

Book Synopsis Irs for Lawyers and Other Dorks by : Matis

Download or read book Irs for Lawyers and Other Dorks written by Matis. This book was released on 2010-04. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Outrageous stories about the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service, and you the American taxpayer. Funny stories. You will laugh. You will learn. Your will learn how the IRS works. Your will learn how to deal with them and, you will learn not to be afraid of them. This is a book for everyone; everyone who is in the tax system; and everyone who is not. It is twenty plus years of "hands on" experience of dealing with the IRS. Written in simple, humorous, and informative language, it is for everyone. True stories about you and the taxman, the IRS. You will laugh...and you will learn. Vendel "Ven" Matis was born and, for the most part, raised in New Jersey. That should explain a lot. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 and received his law degree, JD, from the Marshall-Wyth School of Law, the College of William & Mary, the oldest law school in the country. He has been an attorney since 1969 and began to practice as a tax attorney in 1977. He was a certified specialist in the United States Tax Court. He is now retired. Mr. Matis has traveled extensively throughout the world. He's drunk blood with the Masai in Africa and visited Macchu Pichu, the lost city of the Incas in the Peruvian Andes. He's also done far more dangerous things; he was an Estate planning consultant in Beverly Hills, CA and an expert in offshore trusts in The Caymans in the 1970's. In 1983, Mr.Matis began his tax practice, dealing with the audit and collection divisions of the IRS and the three taxing agencies of the State of California. He chose to represent middle-class Americans who needed the help. He is a "hands-on" specialist who worked every day dealing with middle class tax problems for over 20 years, on behalf of the "average guy." In 2004 he retired and now functions as a consultant. He has written this book for you- the American Taxpayer.
