Book Synopsis Harmonic Analysis in Hypercomplex Systems by : Yu.M. Berezansky

Download or read book Harmonic Analysis in Hypercomplex Systems written by Yu.M. Berezansky. This book was released on 2013-06-29. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First works related to the topics covered in this book belong to J. Delsarte and B. M. Le vitan and appeared since 1938. In these works, the families of operators that generalize usual translation operators were investigated and the corresponding harmonic analysis was constructed. Later, starting from 1950, it was noticed that, in such constructions, an important role is played by the fact that the kernels of the corresponding convolutions of functions are nonnegative and by the properties of the normed algebras generated by these convolutions. That was the way the notion of hypercomplex system with continu ous basis appeared. A hypercomplex system is a normed algebra of functions on a locally compact space Q-the "basis" of this hypercomplex system. Later, similar objects, hypergroups, were introduced, which have complex-valued measures on Q as elements and convolution defined to be essentially the convolution of functionals and dual to the original convolution (if measures are regarded as functionals on the space of continuous functions on Q). However, until 1991, the time when this book was written in Russian, there were no monographs containing fundamentals of the theory (with an exception of a short section in the book by Yu. M. Berezansky and Yu. G. Kondratiev [BeKo]). The authors wanted to give an introduction to the theory and cover the most important subsequent results and examples.

Book Synopsis Geometric Harmonic Analysis V by : Dorina Mitrea

Download or read book Geometric Harmonic Analysis V written by Dorina Mitrea. This book was released on 2023-08-22. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph presents a comprehensive, self-contained, and novel approach to the Divergence Theorem through five progressive volumes. Its ultimate aim is to develop tools in Real and Harmonic Analysis, of geometric measure theoretic flavor, capable of treating a broad spectrum of boundary value problems formulated in rather general geometric and analytic settings. The text is intended for researchers, graduate students, and industry professionals interested in applications of harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory to complex analysis, scattering, and partial differential equations. The ultimate goal in Volume V is to prove well-posedness and Fredholm solvability results concerning boundary value problems for elliptic second-order homogeneous constant (complex) coefficient systems, and domains of a rather general geometric nature. The formulation of the boundary value problems treated here is optimal from a multitude of points of view, having to do with geometry, functional analysis (through the consideration of a large variety of scales of function spaces), topology, and partial differential equations.

Book Synopsis Harmonic Analysis of Probability Measures on Hypergroups by : Walter R. Bloom

Download or read book Harmonic Analysis of Probability Measures on Hypergroups written by Walter R. Bloom. This book was released on 2011-04-20. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series is devoted to the publication of monographs and high-level textbooks in mathematics, mathematical methods and their applications. Apart from covering important areas of current interest, a major aim is to make topics of an interdisciplinary nature accessible to the non-specialist. The works in this series are addressed to advanced students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics. In addition, it can serve as a guide for lectures and seminars on a graduate level. The series de Gruyter Studies in Mathematics was founded ca. 30 years ago by the late Professor Heinz Bauer and Professor Peter Gabriel with the aim to establish a series of monographs and textbooks of high standard, written by scholars with an international reputation presenting current fields of research in pure and applied mathematics. While the editorial board of the Studies has changed with the years, the aspirations of the Studies are unchanged. In times of rapid growth of mathematical knowledge carefully written monographs and textbooks written by experts are needed more than ever, not least to pave the way for the next generation of mathematicians. In this sense the editorial board and the publisher of the Studies are devoted to continue the Studies as a service to the mathematical community. Please submit any book proposals to Niels Jacob.

Download or read book Wavelets, Multiscale Systems and Hypercomplex Analysis written by Daniel Alpay. This book was released on 2006-08-06. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains a selection of papers on the topics of Clifford analysis and wavelets and multiscale analysis, the latter being understood in a very wide sense. The theory of wavelets is mathematically rich and has many practical applications. Most of the articles have been written on invitation and they provide a unique collection of material, particularly relating to Clifford analysis and the theory of wavelets.

Book Synopsis Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Banach Spaces, and Operator Theory (Volume 2) by : María Cristina Pereyra

Download or read book Harmonic Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Banach Spaces, and Operator Theory (Volume 2) written by María Cristina Pereyra. This book was released on 2017-07-10. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the second of a two volume series. Covering a range of subjects from operator theory and classical harmonic analysis to Banach space theory, this book features fully-refereed, high-quality papers exploring new results and trends in weighted norm inequalities, Schur-Agler class functions, complex analysis, dynamical systems, and dyadic harmonic analysis. Graduate students and researchers in analysis will find inspiration in the articles collected in this volume, which emphasize the remarkable connections between harmonic analysis and operator theory. A survey of the two weight problem for the Hilbert transform and an expository article on the Clark model to the case of non-singular measures and applications to the study of rank-one perturbations are included. The material for this volume is based on the 13th New Mexico Analysis Seminar held at the University of New Mexico, April 3-4, 2014 and on several special sections of the Western Spring Sectional Meeting at the University of New Mexico, April 4-6,2014. During the event, participants honored the memory of Cora Sadosky—a great mathematician who recently passed away and who made significant contributions to the field of harmonic analysis. Cora was an exceptional scientist and human being. She was a world expert in harmonic analysis and operator theory, publishing over fifty-five research papers and authoring a major textbook in the field. Participants of the conference include new and senior researchers, recent doctorates as well as leading experts in the area.
