Book Synopsis Scientific Visualization by : Lawrence J. Rosenblum

Download or read book Scientific Visualization written by Lawrence J. Rosenblum. This book was released on 1994. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Numerical simulations of global warming, Mars observation data, and aircraft design are but a few of the topics where the use of human visual perception for data understanding are considered essential. Ten years agoa handful of pioneers professed the value of visualization to skeptical audiences. Today, with supercomputers and sensors producing ever-increasing amounts of data, scientific visualization is accepted throughout much of science and engineering as the fundamental tool for data analysis. Written by a world-wide panel of visualization experts, Scientific Visualization: Advances and Challenges presents astute coverage of prevailing trends, issues, and practice of scientific visualization. From algorithmic topics such as volume graphics and the modeling and visualization of large data sets, to foundations, perception, and interface technology (including virtual reality), this book provides the latest advances in the area. The book demonstrates new techniques, examines diverse application areas, and discusses current limitations and upcoming requirements. Scientific Visualization:Advances and Challenges $> presents readers with a unique opportunity to examine expert thinking and current practice, and to obtain a vision of potential future directions. It will be essential reading for scientific and engineering practitioners and visualization researchers alike. Offers extremely topical and timely coverage of a rapidly evolving area Includes contributions from an international panel of visualization experts in one accessible volume Provides scientific and engineering practitioners as well as visualization researchers with an essential guide to the literature

Book Synopsis Essential Computer Graphics Techniques for Modeling, Animating, and Rendering Biomolecules and Cells by : Giorgio Luciano

Download or read book Essential Computer Graphics Techniques for Modeling, Animating, and Rendering Biomolecules and Cells written by Giorgio Luciano. This book was released on 2019-02-07. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book helps readers develop fundamental skills in the field of biomedical illustrations with a training approach based on step-by-step tutorials with a practical approach. Medical/scientific illustration mainly belongs to professionals in the art field or scientists trying to create artistic visualization. There is not a merging between the two, even if the demand is high. This leads to accurate scientific images with no appeal (or trivial mistakes), or appealing images with huge scientific mistakes. This gives the fundamentals to the scientist so they can apply CG techniques that give a more scientific approach creating mistake-free images. Key Features This book provides a reference where none exist. Without overwhelming the reader with software details it teaches basic principles to give readers to fundamentals to create. Demonstrates professional artistic tools used by scientists to create better images for their work. Coverage of lighting and rendering geared specifically for scientific work that is toturoal based with a practical approach. Included are chapter tutorials, key terms and end of chapter references for Art and Scientific References for each chapter.

Book Synopsis Modelling and Graphics in Science and Technology by : Jose Teixeira

Download or read book Modelling and Graphics in Science and Technology written by Jose Teixeira. This book was released on 2012-12-06. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Graphics and Modelling are key technologies to support visualisation and product development tasks. Based on the recent developments in the areas of (scientific) visualisation, interaction techniques, distributed systems, and product design, in dustrial and applied research have improved the possibilities for further approaches and issues and for exchanging experiences. A workshop on Graphics and Model ling in Science & Technology was held in Coimbra, Portugal in June 1994, and the programme committee selected 19 papers for presentation. The workshop had a good international participation. Due to the extensive scientific contacts between Portuguese and German researchers, the workshop included the third Luso-German Computer Graphics Meeting. This book reflects the results of the workshop. The papers were updated after the workshop presentations to reflect the discussions during the meeting. Correspond ing to the different topics addresses in the workshop, the book is divided into the following six sections. CAD Models and Architectures Short overviews of the Reference Architecture for CAD and the Integration Con cept for CAD applications are given in this section. The integration ability of the international standard STEP is analysed, as well as STEP's integration approaches for product data sharing and product data exchange.
