Book excerpt: It was one more defeat in our long and losing battle to keep the Sun perfect, or, if not perfect, constant, and if inconstant, regular. Why we think the Sun should be any of these when other stars are not is more a question for social than for physical science. John A. (“Jack”) Eddy Delineator of the Maunder Minimum On the human Idée fi xe as to why the Sun must be seen energetically as a linear entity. Around 1904, Kapteyn noticed that the stars did not move randomly through space, but that their movements had preferential directions... there was regularity in something astronomers had always thought to be chaotic. Adriaan Blaauw, emeritus director of the Kapteyn Institute, Groningen, Netherlands On Jacob Cornelius Kapteyn’s discovery of star streaming: the concept of galactic rotation and so, proof of some regularity in stellar behavior.

Book Synopsis Surviving the Super Grand Solar Minimum by : Dennis DeLaurier

Download or read book Surviving the Super Grand Solar Minimum written by Dennis DeLaurier. This book was released on 2019-02-18. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hello and welcome to the Grand Solar Minimum. While you may be wondering just what a Grand Solar Minimum is, you may not know that you are actually living in it now. According to John Casey, a NASA Space Shuttle Engineer, it started in 2008. While you may not have been shoveling 40 foot drifts of snow at your location, things will really pick up at the end of the 2019 - 2020 winters. You may or may not know that the sun goes through a cycle every 11 or so years. The sun also goes through other cycles of around 200, 400 and even 3600 years. During these cycles, sunspot activity decreases and at the end of the cycle starts creating sunspots again. The number of sun spots during a cycle can be correlated to the activity of the sun and the amount of energy (solar irradiance) directed towards the earth. The weaker the cycle (fewer sunspots) the colder the earth seems to get during these periods. While this book is about surviving the (Super) Grand Solar Minimum and things like food loss, breakdown of society, and bitter cold, it is important to understand what is really happening and the causes. If someone on the street would yell out "the world is ending", you would probably just laugh and go on your way. I can really understand that you may be skeptical at this point. I certainly was until I looked at the information and data. This book will cover what the data and cycles look like and why George Washington took his army across the frozen Delaware River to attack the British. If its winter and you check that river now you will note that it is not frozen at all. But why?

Book excerpt: "Picketty (the rich get richer), Gordon (the important innovations are already behind us), Tainter (it's too complicated) all have theories about why the 21st century is such a disappointment. James Dale Davidson connects the dots...but more dots…and more unexpected dots…than perhaps anyone."—From the Foreword by BILL BONNER, coauthor of International bestseller The Empire Debt IS YOUR PORTFOLIO POSITIONED FOR THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL REVOLUTION? The global economy as we know it is due for a major correction, and with this will come permanent, systemic change: the greatest economic freedom the world has ever seen. But hard financial times are ahead, and The Breaking Point will help you protect your wealth and prosper through it all. Providing a painfully clear view of the state of the global economy, outspoken economist James Dale Davidson uses the old-fashioned tool of argument—facts—to describe how governments have mismanaged the financial system to the point of no return. It has all led to Brexit—the opening salvo in the war for financial freedom. The Breaking Point shows you where we've been and where we're headed, offering the insight and information you need to ensure you're positioned for the worst of times-and the best of times.
