Download or read book Internet of Things and Inter-cooperative Computational Technologies for Collective Intelligence written by Nik Bessis. This book was released on 2012-12-14. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past two decades, we have witnessed unprecedented innovations in the development of miniaturized electromechanical devices and low-power wireless communication making practical the embedding of networked computational devices into a rapidly widening range of material entities. This trend has enabled the coupling of physical objects and digital information into cyber-physical systems and it is widely expected to revolutionize the way resource computational consumption and provision will occur. Specifically, one of the core ingredients of this vision, the so-called Internet of Things (IoT), demands the provision of networked services to support interaction between conventional IT systems with both physical and artificial objects. In this way, IoT is seen as a combination of several emerging technologies, which enables the transformation of everyday objects into smart objects. It is also perceived as a paradigm that connects real world with digital world. The focus of this book is exactly on the novel collective and computational intelligence technologies that will be required to achieve this goal. While, one of the aims of this book is to discuss the progress made, it also prompts future directions on the utilization of inter-operable and cooperative next generation computational technologies, which supports the IoT approach, that being an advanced functioning towards an integrated collective intelligence approach for the benefit of various organizational settings.

Book Synopsis Control of Multiphase Machines and Drives by : Federico Barrero

Download or read book Control of Multiphase Machines and Drives written by Federico Barrero. This book was released on 2020-01-24. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the growing interest in electrical machines in recent times, the multiphase machine field has developed into a fascinating research area. Their intrinsic features (power splitting, better fault tolerance, or lower torque ripple) make them an appealing competitor to conventional three-phase machines. Multiphase electric drives have been recently used in applications where fault tolerance and continuous operation of the drive are required. However, the difficulties in extending the three-phase conventional current regulation and control structure to multiphase systems still limit their broad applicability in industry solutions. The main objective of this book is to illustrate new advances, developments, and applications in the field of multiphase machines and drives, while exposing these advances, developments, and applications to the scientific community and industry.

Download or read book Advanced Dynamics written by Dan B. Marghitu. This book was released on 2012-05-24. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advanced Dynamics: Analytical and Numerical Calculations with MATLAB provides a thorough, rigorous presentation of kinematics and dynamics while using MATLAB as an integrated tool to solve problems. Topics presented are explained thoroughly and directly, allowing fundamental principles to emerge through applications from areas such as multibody systems, robotics, spacecraft and design of complex mechanical devices. This book differs from others in that it uses symbolic MATLAB for both theory and applications. Special attention is given to solutions that are solved analytically and numerically using MATLAB. The illustrations and figures generated with MATLAB reinforce visual learning while an abundance of examples offer additional support.

Book Synopsis Distributed-Order Dynamic Systems by : Zhuang Jiao

Download or read book Distributed-Order Dynamic Systems written by Zhuang Jiao. This book was released on 2012-02-24. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Distributed-order differential equations, a generalization of fractional calculus, are of increasing importance in many fields of science and engineering from the behaviour of complex dielectric media to the modelling of nonlinear systems. This Brief will broaden the toolbox available to researchers interested in modeling, analysis, control and filtering. It contains contextual material outlining the progression from integer-order, through fractional-order to distributed-order systems. Stability issues are addressed with graphical and numerical results highlighting the fundamental differences between constant-, integer-, and distributed-order treatments. The power of the distributed-order model is demonstrated with work on the stability of noncommensurate-order linear time-invariant systems. Generic applications of the distributed-order operator follow: signal processing and viscoelastic damping of a mass–spring set up. A new general approach to discretization of distributed-order derivatives and integrals is described. The Brief is rounded out with a consideration of likely future research and applications and with a number of MATLAB® codes to reduce repetitive coding tasks and encourage new workers in distributed-order systems.
