Book Synopsis Design & Intuition by : Cecilia Lewis Kausel

Download or read book Design & Intuition written by Cecilia Lewis Kausel. This book was released on 2012. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scholarship has sought to explain design primarily as developments and trends by understanding the influential ideas of a period. These processes are resourceful to the analysis, however they don't explain why people become attached to design and cultivate it in time. For this purpose we must also gain understanding of collective cognitive processes and the meaning of design to people. The study traces the development of respective design observed first in ancient structures, and then in interiors and artefacts that are associated to architecture by design. Design form migrates usually from technology to material culture (i.e. from buildings to interiors and crafts), though this direction is not fixed in creativity. Sometimes this pattern is not followed, and arches, pilasters, tower crenellations and pediments appear in historic costume. Technology holds implications for visual culture, thus this study also looks at the inspiration in mechanical instruments observed in XXI century design. As the book unfolds a cultural phenomenon emerges. Architectural evocations in other crafts reflect that the public has its own dialogue with design. The attachments and responses of the public to design are many times a phenomenon worthy of being analyzed. The book gives out interesting findings about the mind and how it transforms design. It also exemplifies a new methodology for the observation of collective responses to design.

Book Synopsis Intuition by Design by : Victor R. Beasley

Download or read book Intuition by Design written by Victor R. Beasley. This book was released on 1995. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intuition By Design is an instrument for harmonizing within the individual the highest frequencies of both intuition and intellect. This unique blend of spontaneous insight and linear thought has been called the "intelligence of the Heart". Such applied wisdom brings the clarity of true inner knowing to bear upon all of your daily activities. This work introduces the Intuition Quotient Cards -- an adaptation of ancient geometric technology that has been updated for contemporary use. Each card carries a geometric pattern which generates a specific energy field on one side, and corresponding written verse on the other.

Book Synopsis What is Design? by : Tony Palmer

Download or read book What is Design? written by Tony Palmer. This book was released on 2020-09-04. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Designers rarely question design but there are many non-designers ready to question the practice for them. Shifting design towards a statement of social critique, a practice for measurement or as an externalised design discourse. But these incursions from beyond the designer's intuition have no substantial connection to design. They are mostly agenda driven gambits seeking affirmation, credibility and relevance. In this essay Palmer outlines a more precise definition of design that should resonate with all designers and position the practice as an expression of our fundamental sense of being human.

Book Synopsis Intuitive Analog Circuit Design by : Marc Thompson

Download or read book Intuitive Analog Circuit Design written by Marc Thompson. This book was released on 2013-11-12. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intuitive Analog Circuit Design outlines ways of thinking about analog circuits and systems that let you develop a feel for what a good, working analog circuit design should be. This book reflects author Marc Thompson's 30 years of experience designing analog and power electronics circuits and teaching graduate-level analog circuit design, and is the ideal reference for anyone who needs a straightforward introduction to the subject. In this book, Dr. Thompson describes intuitive and "back-of-the-envelope" techniques for designing and analyzing analog circuits, including transistor amplifiers (CMOS, JFET, and bipolar), transistor switching, noise in analog circuits, thermal circuit design, magnetic circuit design, and control systems. The application of some simple rules of thumb and design techniques is the first step in developing an intuitive understanding of the behavior of complex electrical systems. Introducing analog circuit design with a minimum of mathematics, this book uses numerous real-world examples to help you make the transition to analog design. The second edition is an ideal introductory text for anyone new to the area of analog circuit design. - LTSPICE files and PowerPoint files available online to assist readers and instructors in simulating circuits found in the text - Design examples are used throughout the text, along with end-of-chapter examples - Covers real-world parasitic elements in circuit design and their effects
