Book Synopsis Computational Mechanics of Nonlinear Response of Shells by : Wilfried B. Krätzig

Download or read book Computational Mechanics of Nonlinear Response of Shells written by Wilfried B. Krätzig. This book was released on 2012-12-06. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shell structures and their components are applied in many engineering fields. Designers are attaching ever increasing importance to nonlinear responses such as large deformations, instabilities and nonlinear material properties in their design analysis. This volume presents a careful selection of papers from the ICES '88 Conference covering various aspects of nonlinear shell responses.

Book Synopsis Nonlinear Mechanics of Shells and Plates in Composite, Soft and Biological Materials by : Marco Amabili

Download or read book Nonlinear Mechanics of Shells and Plates in Composite, Soft and Biological Materials written by Marco Amabili. This book was released on 2018-11-01. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the most recent advances on the mechanics of soft and composite shells and their nonlinear vibrations and stability, including advanced problems of modeling human vessels (aorta) with fluid-structure interaction. It guides the reader into nonlinear modelling of shell structures in applications where advanced composite and complex biological materials must be described with great accuracy. To achieve this goal, the book presents nonlinear shell theories, nonlinear vibrations, buckling, composite and functionally graded materials, hyperelasticity, viscoelasticity, nonlinear damping, rubber and soft biological materials. Advanced nonlinear shell theories, not available in any other book, are fully derived in a simple notation and are ready to be implemented in numerical codes. The work features a blend of the most advanced theory and experimental results, and is a valuable resource for researchers, professionals and graduate students, especially those interested in mechanics, aeronautics, civil structures, materials, bioengineering and solid matter at different scales.

Book Synopsis Computational Mechanics ’95 by : S.N. Atluri

Download or read book Computational Mechanics ’95 written by S.N. Atluri. This book was released on 2013-11-11. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: AI!, in the earlier conferences (Tokyo, 1986; Atlanta, 1988, Melbourne, 1991; and Hong Kong, 1992) the response to the call for presentations at ICES-95 in Hawaii has been overwhelming. A very careful screening of the extended abstracts resulted in about 500 paper being accepted for presentation. Out of these, written versions of about 480 papers reached the conference secretariat in Atlanta in time for inclusion in these proceedings. The topics covered at ICES-95 range over the broadest spectrum of computational engineering science. The editors thank the international scientific committee, for their advice and encouragement in making ICES-95 a successful scientific event. Special thanks are expressed to the International Association for Boundary Elements Methods for hosting IABEM-95 in conjunction with ICES-95. The editors here express their deepest gratitude to Ms. Stacy Morgan for her careful handling of a myriad of details of ICES-95, often times under severe time constraints. The editors hope that the readers of this proceedings will find a kaleidoscopic view of computational engineering in the year 1995, as practiced in various parts of the world. Satya N.
