Book Synopsis An Introduction to the Gas Phase by : Claire Vallance

Download or read book An Introduction to the Gas Phase written by Claire Vallance. This book was released on 2017-12-08. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An Introduction to the Gas Phase is adapted from a set of lecture notes for a core first year lecture course in physical chemistry taught at the University of Oxford. The book is intended to give a relatively concise introduction to the gas phase at a level suitable for any undergraduate scientist. After defining the gas phase, properties of gases such as temperature, pressure, and volume are discussed. The relationships between these properties are explained at a molecular level, and simple models are introduced that allow the various gas laws to be derived from first principles. Finally, the collisional behavior of gases is used to explain a number of gas-phase phenomena, such as effusion, diffusion, and thermal conductivity.

Book Synopsis The Gas-Phase Oxidation of Hydrocarbons by : V. Ya. Shtern

Download or read book The Gas-Phase Oxidation of Hydrocarbons written by V. Ya. Shtern. This book was released on 2016-07-29. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gas-Phase Oxidation of Hydrocarbons reviews research on the mechanism of oxidation of paraffins, naphthenes, olefines, and aromatic hydrocarbons and explains in detail the phenomena and theories with significant kinetic equations and graphs. This book first presents a study of the development of research on the gaseous-phase oxidation of hydrocarbons. The non-chain schemes for the oxidation of hydrocarbons, such as hydroxylation, peroxidation, and aldehyde and dehydrogenation schemes, are then discussed. This book also presents experimental investigations and important topics such as oxidation of methane and olefinic hydrocarbons. This selection will be invaluable to students and experts in the field of chemistry and related disciplines.
