Interestingly, there are several species described in this book that are for the first time identified by the author. Although there are many floras used as medicinal plants including some regional floras of India including Indian Medicinal Plants, the flora of indigenous plants of India and some Medicinal plants of Jammu and Kashmir, the present book mainly focuses on the medicinal plants of the Ladakh region used in their traditional medicinal system called Sowa Rigpa or Amchi.
