Book Synopsis Modern Cryptography Primer by : Czesław Kościelny

Download or read book Modern Cryptography Primer written by Czesław Kościelny. This book was released on 2013-11-19. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cryptography has experienced rapid development, with major advances recently in both secret and public key ciphers, cryptographic hash functions, cryptographic algorithms and multiparty protocols, including their software engineering correctness verification, and various methods of cryptanalysis. This textbook introduces the reader to these areas, offering an understanding of the essential, most important, and most interesting ideas, based on the authors' teaching and research experience. After introducing the basic mathematical and computational complexity concepts, and some historical context, including the story of Enigma, the authors explain symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, electronic signatures and hash functions, PGP systems, public key infrastructures, cryptographic protocols, and applications in network security. In each case the text presents the key technologies, algorithms, and protocols, along with methods of design and analysis, while the content is characterized by a visual style and all algorithms are presented in readable pseudocode or using simple graphics and diagrams. The book is suitable for undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and engineering, particularly in the area of networking, and it is also a suitable reference text for self-study by practitioners and researchers. The authors assume only basic elementary mathematical experience, the text covers the foundational mathematics and computational complexity theory.

Book Synopsis A Cryptography Primer by : Matthew Marsh

Download or read book A Cryptography Primer written by Matthew Marsh. This book was released on 2017-05-09. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cryptography has been employed in war and diplomacy from the time of Julius Caesar. In our Internet age, cryptography's most widespread application may be for commerce, from protecting the security of electronic transfers to guarding communication from industrial espionage. This accessible introduction for undergraduates explains the cryptographic protocols for achieving privacy of communication and the use of digital signatures for certifying the validity, integrity, and origin of a message, document, or program. Rather than offering a how-to on configuring web browsers and e-mail programs, the author provides a guide to the principles and elementary mathematics underlying modern cryptography, giving readers a look under the hood for security techniques and the reasons they are thought to be secure.

Book Synopsis Foundations of Cryptography by : Oded Goldreich

Download or read book Foundations of Cryptography written by Oded Goldreich. This book was released on 2005. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revolutionary developments which took place in the 1980's have transformed cryptography from a semi-scientific discipline to a respectable field in theoretical Computer Science. In particular, concepts such as computational indistinguishability, pseudorandomness and zero-knowledge interactive proofs were introduced and classical notions as secure encryption and unforgeable signatures were placed on sound grounds. The resulting field of cryptography, reviewed in this survey, is strongly linked to complexity theory (in contrast to 'classical' cryptography which is strongly related to information theory).
