Download or read book Collapse Analysis for Shells of General Shape written by Bo. O. Almroth. This book was released on 1973. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: F33615-69-C-1523AF-1467AFFDLTR-71-8-Vol-2See also report dated Aug 72, AD-751 702.(*shells(structural forms), failure(mechanics)), (*computer programming, instruction manuals), structural properties, loads(forces), buckling, plastic properties, bodies of revolution, subroutinesnewton-raphson method, collapse, programming manuals, finite difference theory, *stags computer program, structural analysisThe manual presents STAGS, a comprehensive computer code. STAGS is intended for the static analysis of arbitrary shells including the effects of nonlinearities caused by material behavior and finite deformations. Collapse loads based on nonlinear analysis can be computed as well as buckling loads based on classical bifurcation buckling theory with linear prestress. Arbitrary thermal and mechanical loadings can be specified. The manual rpovides instructions for use of the code and presents sample problems and solutions. The program is under development and the version presented here is expected to be updated in 1973. The previous report, Volume 1 (AD-751 702), contains the numerical analysis.

Book Synopsis Electrical Engineer's Reference Book by : M A Laughton

Download or read book Electrical Engineer's Reference Book written by M A Laughton. This book was released on 2013-10-22. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrical Engineer's Reference Book, Fourteenth Edition focuses on electrical engineering. The book first discusses units, mathematics, and physical quantities, including the international unit system, physical properties, and electricity. The text also looks at network and control systems analysis. The book examines materials used in electrical engineering. Topics include conducting materials, superconductors, silicon, insulating materials, electrical steels, and soft irons and relay steels. The text underscores electrical metrology and instrumentation, steam-generating plants, turbines and diesel plants, and nuclear reactor plants. The book also discusses alternative energy sources. Concerns include wind, geothermal, wave, ocean thermal, solar, and tidal energy. The text then looks at alternating-current generators. Stator windings, insulation, output equation, armature reaction, and reactants and time-constraints are described. The book also examines overhead lines, cables, power transformers, switchgears and protection, supply and control of reactive power, and power systems operation and control. The text is a vital source of reference for readers interested in electrical engineering.

Download or read book Electrical Engineer's Reference Book written by G R Jones. This book was released on 2013-10-22. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A long established reference book: radical revision for the fifteenth edition includes complete rearrangement to take in chapters on new topics and regroup the subjects covered for easy access to information. The Electrical Engineer's Reference Book, first published in 1945, maintains its original aims: to reflect the state of the art in electrical science and technology and cater for the needs of practising engineers. Most chapters have been revised and many augmented so as to deal properly with both fundamental developments and new technology and applications that have come to the fore since the fourteenth edition was published (1985). Topics covered by new chapters or radically updated sections include: * digital and programmable electronic systems * reliability analysis * EMC * power electronics * fundamental properties of materials * optical fibres * maintenance in power systems * electroheat and welding * agriculture and horticulture * aeronautic transportation * health and safety * procurement and purchasing * engineering economics

Book Synopsis The Z Shell Manual by : Paul Falstad

Download or read book The Z Shell Manual written by Paul Falstad. This book was released on 2019-02-03. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Z Shell Manual contains a description of the shell that is complete, concise and up-to-date, although somewhat overwhelming and devoid of examples. Zsh is a shell designed for interactive use, although it is also a powerful scripting language. Many of the useful features of bash, ksh, and tcsh were incorporated into zsh; many original features were added. Zsh assumes basic knowledge of the standard UNIX shells; the intent is to show a reader already familiar with one of the other major shells what makes zsh more useful or more powerful.
