Book Synopsis Organizational Behavior by : Joseph E. Champoux

Download or read book Organizational Behavior written by Joseph E. Champoux. This book was released on 2005. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR: INTEGRATING INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS, THIRD EDITION is a well-organized introduction to the current field of organizational behavior with in-depth coverage of the most critical concepts. Its practical approach shows the power of organizational behavior theory for understanding one's behavior and the behavior of others in any organization. Although firmly grounded in behavioral science theory and research, the text is not a compendium of research findings. Champoux includes examples and builds frameworks that make the material clear and easy to understand. The concise format allows the text to be used as a primer or to be supplemented with additional cases, readings, or exercises. More interactive than in previous editions, this text provides students with several online features to reinforce their knowledge of chapter content with exercises, practice and other learning opportunities.

Book Synopsis Organizational Behavior by : J Stewart Black

Download or read book Organizational Behavior written by J Stewart Black. This book was released on 2019-06-05. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A less-expensive grayscale paperback version is available. Search for ISBN 9781680922875. The field of management and organizational behavior exists today in a constant state of evolution and change. Casual readers of publications like the New York Times, The Economist and the Wall Street Journal will learn about the dynamic nature of organizations in today's ever-changing business environment. Organizational Behavior is designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of the introductory course on Organizational Behavior. This is a traditional approach to organizational behavior. The table of contents of this book was designed to address two main themes. What are the variables that affect how, when, where, and why managers perform their jobs? What theories and techniques are used by successful managers at a variety of organizational levels to achieve and exceed objectives effectively and efficiently throughout their careers? Management is a broad business discipline, and the Organizational Behavior course covers many areas such as individual and group behavior at work, as well as organizational processes such as communication in the workplace and managing conflict and negotiation. No one individual can be an expert in all areas of management, so an additional benefit of this text is that specialists in a variety of areas have authored individual chapters. Finally, we all made an effort to present a balanced approach to gender and diversity throughout the text in the examples used, the photographs selected, and the use of both male and female in alternating chapters when referring to generic managers or employees.

Book Synopsis Brain Theory by : Günther Palm

Download or read book Brain Theory written by Günther Palm. This book was released on 2012-12-06. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present collection of papers forms the Proceedings of the First Meeting on Brain Theory, held October 1-4, 1984 at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy. The Meeting was organized with the aim of bringing together brain theorists who are willing to put their own research in the perspective of the general development of neuroscience. Such a meeting was considered necessary since the explosion of experi mental work in neuroscience during the last decades has not been accompanied by an adequate development on the theoretical side. The intensity of the discussions during the Meeting is prob ably reflected best in the report of the organizers, reprinted here following the Preface. During the Meeting it was decided that a workshop of this kind should be repeated at regular intervals of approximately 2 years. The International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste has kindly agreed to act as host for future meetings. The present Meeting was supported by grants from the In ternational Centre for Theoretical Physics and the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, IBM-Germany through the "Stifterverband fur die Deutsche Wissenschaft" and the Max Planck-Institute for Biological Cybernetics.
