Book excerpt: This study aims to determine the effect of career development and motivation on employee performance simultaneously, to know the influence of career development on the performance of employees partially, to know the effect of motivation on employee performance partially, to know the influence of organizational commitment to the performance of employees partially, performance of employees through organizational commitment and know the influence of motivation on employee performance through organizational commitment variable. The research was conducted on institutional development section of educational diniyah and Pondok Pesantren office of ministry of South Jakarta. The sampling technique used simple random method with 62 employees. Data analysis using path analysis. Based on data analysis, it is known that career development and motivation variable have an effect on employee performance simultaneously.Partially variable Career development, motivation and organizational commitment affect the performance of employees. While motivation variable is not proven can be intervening variable in relationship of career development variable to employee performance. And organizational commitment variable is not proven can be intervening variable in relation of job pressure variable to employee performance.

Book excerpt: The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the Influence of the Work Environment, Organizational Commitment And Organizational Citizenship Behavior On employee Performance through Motivation as an intervening Matahari Department Store Tbk Tunjungan Plaza in Surabaya. The population of this research was conducted by using the sampling technique of the research is taken from the population by using the method the sample is saturated, meaning that all existing populations as a complement to the sample, so the sample used the same magnitude with the population of 125 employees. Path analysis and hypothesis test using t test. The results of this study show that work environment has positive and significant effect on employee performance; work environment influential positive and significantly to the motivation; organizational commitment and significant positive effect on employee motivation; organizational commitment and significant positive effect terhaadap employee performance; OCB positive and significant effect on employee performance. OCB have a positive and significant impact on employee motivation; motivation has positive and significant effect on employee performance; work environment influential positive and significant on employee performance through motivation; commitment otganisasi positive and significant effect on employee performance through motivation, and OCB positive and significant effect on employee performance through motivation.

Book excerpt: In the global higher education marketplace, State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta have been attempting to establish them self in international ranking university. To realize this, several efforts have been created, such as increasing the quality of teaching and research, recruiting international and highly talented students, obtaining government and nongovernment sources of funding, creating academic freedom, opening bigger opportunities to the lecturers and administrative staff to get the scholarship in order to get higher degree in specific area. One of the most important concepts that influence the university to have strategic position in international ranking is the level of organizational commitment of its human resources. It plays an important role in improving the effectiveness of university. Similarly, work culture and achievement motivation are also significantly important in advancing quality of learning. Work culture will lead and guide people in the university on how they should behave and what should be achieved to create a better university in future. Therefore, the objective of this study is to measure organizational commitment, work culture, and achievement motivation among lecturers, administrative staff, and students in State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. 59 lecturers, 99 administrative staff, and 101 students that have been working or studying more than 1 year were recruited from different faculties in the University. They were administered a set of scales that were developed by researchers: organizational commitment (18 items), work culture (33 items), and achievement motivation (21 items). Each scale is made on a 4-point rating Likert scale (range from strongly agree to strongly disagree). By using SPSS software, multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the research hypotheses.

This study guided by the following research questions. To determine the methods used by employers to motivate employees in the MoNDP, to know the extent that extrinsic motivation affects employees' performance in the MoNDP, To examine how intrinsic motivation affect employees' performance in the MoNDP, To identify how motivation link with employee work performance. This study adopted a descriptive research design. The population of the study was 90 employees' of the MoNDP. A census sampling was done and so the 90 employees constituted the sample size. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. The questionnaire was to administer by the researcher. The completed questionnaires were edited for completeness. The data were analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) computer package. The data were interpreted using descriptive statistics through frequencies, percentages and correlation analysis. The findings were presented in the form of tables and figures. The study found out that the ministry uses many different tools to motivate its employees. These include; payments on time, employee rotation within the ministry and salary provision. However, the study also found out that NDP does not use provide fringe benefits to its employees. It was also found out that ministry doesn't pay its workers according to the amount of work they have done also when employees meet targets ministry doesn't provide bonuses the ministry does not carry out training of its employees.
