Book excerpt: The energy spectrum of the decay pions in tau+ decay was obtained from a sample of 17,898 events. It is found that the spectrum is adequately fitted by a squared matrix element of linear form. No evidence for CP noninvariance is found for tau+ decays. A significant violation of the delta I = 1/2 rule is observed for K+ yields 3 pion decays. (Author).

These events were found in a systematic frame-by-frame scan of 70-mm. bubble chamber film taken from the 30-in. Columbia-Brookhaven National Laboratory propane bubble chamber exposed to a separated positive-K meson beam. The energy spectra of the pions are compared to existing experimental data and to the spectra predicted by various theoretical models for t-decay. (Author).
